8 weeks! With a guest appearance from our weird cat, Spiderman!
Yes I know, I posted my 7 week article two weeks ago. I'm not that bad with math, we just had the ultrasound and it moved the due date back a few days. Speaking of ultrasounds, I was quite impressed with the images we got for such an itty bitty baby!
Enjoy the space while you can, little dude. I'm sure you'll be cramped soon enough! But seriously, boy or girl, this baby is chillin' like a dude! Which made it way easier for us to see its tiny arms and legs, so I'm thankful for that. And I seriously hope that it decides to pose spread-eagle 8-10 weeks from now when we get to find out the gender! That would definitely make things easier for everyone.
Ok before I run to Ulta to get some free stuff (thank you Rewards Program!) I'll give y'all the current run down.
How far along? 8 (almost 9) weeks. Baby is half an inch long, and finally starting to flex it's teeny-tiny muscles! It's heart rate is 167bpm right now and it's growing about a millimeter a day!
Total weight gain/loss: I lost the pound I gained and another one on top of it :( Although I've learned to not fight the queasiness. If I feel like I'm going to be sick, I just let it happen and I get a much needed reprieve for a couple hours where I can actually eat things.
Maternity clothes? Ha.
Stretch marks? Not even close.
Sleep: Still tired all the time. Yesterday I came home from the Drs and took a 2 hour nap, but I was ready for bed at 9:45!
Best moment this week: The ultrasound! Even after the positive tests and feeling very pregnant, its really reasuring to get to see the baby move and watch its little heart beating! I could only see the screen when the ultrasound tech would stop and move it to face me, but during the rest of the time I just watched Matt's face. It's pretty adorable to see his eyes glued to the screen and his random smiles and he sees the baby.
Miss Anything? My stomach! Someone swapped it out with one that belongs to a 19 year old girl that drinks to excess every night, I swear!
Movement: The baby does move! I witnessed it on the ultrasound! But I'm still nowhere close to feeling it. Although they say that thinner girls can feel it sooner, so that's something.
Food cravings: Bleh. Just the thought of food makes me want to hurl 90% of the time!
Anything making you queasy or sick: The real question is: is there anything that doesn't make me sick? Once I find that I'll be saved I'm sure! Although I did eat a burrito today and it was delicious. Except for the one bite that was all red sauce. That made me gag for about 30 seconds.. lol but that's better than normal!
Have you started to show yet: psh. The only thing that shows is my tired and broken out face. I'm definitely ready for the baby glow, the engery and the nesting to start!
Gender: I need to schedule another ultrasound for as soon as I can possibly find out the gender.
Labor Signs: I pray those don't start for 30 weeks!
Belly Button in or out? In, but I wont mind if it pops out when I'm mega-prego.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Looking forward to: The second trimester. Oh and my appointment next week with my doctor. I need to talk with her about how dizzy and lightheaded I get.
Mood: I don't think I've been moody at all, just whiney. I'll have to ask Matt to see for sure. . . His reply, and I quote "Agreeable. That's a loaded question." When I assured him that I wanted an honest answer he replied, "Well you are agreeable most of the time and I haven't noticed you being moody but you are asleep most of the time."
Sorry love. I guess you're a one-man team until I get some energy back!

Milestones: First Ultrasound. Check. Next up, meeting my doctor for the first time (how screwy is that? I really dislike how little I see my Dr).
Upcoming Appointments/Events: Yep. And you can be sure I'm going to ask for more appointments, or to get a referral to a civilian hospital. I also need to ask if they have gotten around to getting 3D ultrasounds. Not that I actually need that, but I'm curious.
Weekly Wisdom: I got nothing. I look around my messy house and think, I really need to clean. I should probably make dinner too. I also have a list a mile long of crafts I want to start for the baby.
Meh. I'm going to take a nap. I'll get around to it next trimester.
Ahh, second trimester. That's the golden one, right? I sure hope so!
