Obviously I'm joking. Passing out anywhere isn't fun. It's especially un-fun when you're by yourself in a crowded place.
Thankfully I was at a baby store and the employees were well versed in pregnancy issues. They got me a chair and a wet towel while my vision was blurry and hearing was going in and out and I was able to sit down before I actually fell.
All that sacrifice for this set of onsies!
All that sacrifice for this set of onsies!
I bought these because they were the most neutral onsies I could find. Apparently nobody likes to dress their kids in solid colors or things that don't literally say Boy or Girl on them?!
Oh, the joys of pregnancy.
Oh, the joys of pregnancy.
At least this is a symptom that I knew was coming; I've always had low blood pressure and I fainted even before pregnancy. I just wish I could do more than eat and carry candy in my purse to avoid it!
Aside from that, I was welcomed into the second trimester with continued morning sickness and new found ligament pain! Have any of y'all seen the movie What To Expect When You're Expecting? Well we were laying on the couch the other night and football was over so Matt was browsing Netflix and he put it on. (Sweet right? I definitely have a keeper) Whenever I feel irritated about the morning sickness and whatnot I think of that movie. Specifically Elizabeth Banks' character, and I laugh and feel better again. The secret that no one tells you about pregnancy is that it's uncomfortable and gross. People don't tell you that because they're either mean-hearted people that want to see you suffer or, more often, they know it's worth it and forget about most of the gross and irritating things they had to go through.
That being said, I would really like to be able to help my husband work around the yard and the hunting property and spend more time working than taking water breaks! This weekend I looked like a ghost by the time we left the property because I was so exhausted. Don't even ask me what I did to contribute- it wasn't much. Poor Matt had to do 90% of the work AND he had to keep checking up on me and telling me to go sit in the truck to cool off! Maybe next time I'll send someone useful in my place. Someone useful that can use bugspray because I have more bites now than I ever have and I was wearing jeans and a long sleeved shirt!! The things we do for our babies.
All the whining and passing out aside, I had a doctors appointment today! Those are always fun. Even when the doctor tells you that passing out is completely normal and no big deal. Somehow I don't think being at risk for falling and or crashing my car is no big deal, but ok. The only advice she had for me was to eat more snacks and more protein so I can gain a few pounds.
Aside from that, I heard the baby's heartbeat again (163) and got to schedule the gender confirmation ultrasound! The irritating thing is that they won't schedule it a day before 18 weeks.
Don't bother preaching to me about how patience is a virtue, it's better to wait to know for sure or how gender reveal parties are soooo much fun. I. Don't. Care.
That's like telling a college student that the exam review is done, but you won't give it to them until 24 hours before the exam. No bueno.
I want to know if this little thing is a boy or a girl so I can start shopping and crafting for it. I mean do you know how many sales I've already missed because of this dilemma?! Hello, my Labor Day shopping was practically fruitless because no one sells gender neutral baby clothes! I can't even get my nursery ready or buy accent pieces.
All that ranting aside- I've been looking into places in the area that offer gender confirmation ultrasounds as early as 15 weeks and I've contacted a few to find the best deal/reschedule policy (ya know, in case the 'patience' nonsense prevails and they can't tell the gender). I think it's pretty safe to say that we'll be announcing gender in the month of September, so keep an eye out for that.
How far along?14 Weeks! Just kidding. Now I'm 15 weeks because it's taken me forever to take my picture and post this blog! I am finally in the second trimester and the baby now looks like a lemon orange sized monkey! Hopefully without the tail... But it does have lanugo which is essentially a fur coat to keep it warm.

How far along?
Total weight gain/loss: Net gain: -2. Today I was ordered by the doctor to eat more snacks. She said adding an extra pound or two might help with the dizziness.
Maternity clothes? Does a cute cardigan from Banana Republic count? If not, then no, haven't bought any yet.
Stretch marks? No sir.
Sleep: Back to normal! The days wear me out more than they used to, but I'm back to a normal amount of sleep, and waking up every couple hours (which is the norm for me).
Best moment this week: Hearing the baby's heartbeat. Second place is definitely hanging out on the boat, though. That's the only way I can handle the heat these days!
Miss Anything? My ability to contribute. It gets frustrating when I can't even weed around the shrubs without needing 2 water breaks!
Movement: You know, I keep trying what people tell me but so far I haven't felt diddly. I've tried eating something sugary then laying down with my hand on my stomach. Tried doing that before bed and in the middle of the night. Tried pushing a little bit as well. I guess either the little monkey is eluding me, or I'm not nearly as in-tuned to the goings-on of my abdomen as some women.
Food cravings: Nothing out of the ordinary. Although it would be great if my body would start craving MORE so I could gain a little weight.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Brushing my teeth still makes me sick and I still don't feel normal hunger, it comes in the form of queasiness.
Have you started to show yet: A little bit! However if you don't know me, I just look like I have a slight pudge. Which definitely isn't cute. Instead of feeling the need to tell everyone who looks at me that I'm pregnant (to avoid the 'pudge' thoughts) I just wear loose clothing so they can't see it.
Gender: hmm. I'm going to guess boy. I don't really have a clue though, so don't hold me to that!
Labor Signs: Nope.
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Looking forward to: The ultrasound!
Mood: Happy :) and ready to get the nesting started!
Milestones: Second trimester! The next two are gender confirmation and week 20ish when my blood volume has increased enough that I don't get dizzy anymore.
Upcoming Appointments/Events: I had an appointment today, genetics screening this week, then 2-3 more appointments scheduled in the next 4 weeks. Maybe the increased facetime at the hospital will help the time pass more quickly.
Weekly Wisdom: Always carry water and a snack. I've been really good about always having water but having a snack in my purse is just as important, especially if I get lightheaded and feel like passing out. One of my desk drawers at work has turned into a snack pantry and I carry a couple candies in my purse, just in case.
For those of you that have been following on Facebook- YES we scheduled and went to our ultrasound already! NO I'm not spilling the beans yet. Look for the gender announcement in the next blog post!
