Warren is ONE!

Life has been so busy that I forgot to post Warren's one year update! Only two weeks late, but here it is!

It is so hard to fathom how quickly time passes.
This was one year ago:

He has always been such a happy baby; so full of energy, yet easy going. How did all of this happen in one year?!?! We survived teething, moving, sleep regressions, attempting to wean and getting ready to move again. All in all, I couldn't ask for a better family situation!

We are beyond blessed to have a happy, healthy toddler (insert a sniffling mom here), and I cannot wait to hear him expand his vocabulary and see his personality unfold.

Look at me! Today I'm: ONE!

He weighs: 22.4lbs (63%, the highest he's ever been on the weight chart!)

His height/length is now: 31.25 inches (96%, which is on par for the little giant!)

His clothing size is: 18 month pajamas and shirts! he's still too skinny for 18 mo pants though. Thankfully it's shorts season in Arizona!

This month he learned: How to sign 'bath' and 'please', how to blow kisses, how to jump off the porch (and the beds), how to point at things consistently and he mimics our words now! He's told me, "no!" and "out!" in addition to occasionally saying ball, and more! Yesterday he learned how to lean forward and look at things upsidedown, cue hearts melting

He also tries to run when he gets excited and it's such a clumsy, adorable sight!

Special trips we took: The special event of the month was Warren's birthday party! He LOVED all of the kids, opening his presents (offering them to everyone) and he especially loved his smash cake! It was his first taste of cake and it went over VERY well.

Mommy's thoughts about this month: It's amazing to think of how much he has changed this year, and everything he knows at 12 months! I love his personality. So. Much.

His routine: He's a happy sleeper for 12 hours a night, he takes a 2 hour nap a day and eats about 36 times a day! He LOVES to eat and he plays outside Every. Single. Day.

Best moment: Watching Warren laugh. He laughs for real, he fake laughs to make other people laugh and he laughs every time anyone else does! It's adorable.

His favorite things are: Chasing Wyatt and Alexis, playing with the dogs, being outside and anything that involves water!!

Time to start planning a birthday party

I am not ready for Warren to be eleven months! Mostly because I'm not ready for him to be a year old in a month. This month flew by! It started with a haircut
Which he handled like a champ!
Then culminated with him deciding he was going to start walking!

Look at me! Today I'm: Eleven months old! I cannot believe time has gone by so quickly! My baby is almost a toddler!

He weighs: 21 pounds

His height/length is now: 30.5 inches

His clothing size is: 12 month clothes and he even wears some of his 18 month pajamas!

This month he learned: how to walk!! He walks all over the place!
He also tries to climb things now.
He's still too short to actually get up onto the couch, but it's adorable to watch him try! I'm pretty sure our time at the park is what sparked his new climbing obsession.
He hasn't added any new words to his vocabulary, but he's using his signs and his words more regularly.

Special trips we took: We got to fly out to look at some potential new homes!
He thought it was so cool to have his own seat! I really appreciated it too 😂
He got sick of driving around, but Wyatt did a great job entertaining him while we logged some serious car hours!

Mommy and daddy's thoughts about this month: I am so torn. This month Warren has gotten so mobile and he's so excited about the new exploration he can do! I'm just sad at how fast it's going! He is going to be such a fun toddler though.

His routine: He takes one nap a day and sleeps about 12 hours at night! He's even getting pretty good at falling asleep quickly when I lay him in his crib at night. I'm not sure how the upcoming transition away from bottles is going to affect this.. We're going to switch out a bottle a day with a sippy cup of milk, instead of just doing cups during meals. Hopefully it will get him ready for the switch!

Best moment:
Watching Warren walk!! He gets so excited that he starts clapping for himself as he's still walking.

His favorite things are: he loves walking around aimlessly!
He also loves the pop up house and tunnel that my parents bought him
And as always, he LOVES playing with his brother and sister <3
Even if it means letting Alexis dress him up as sheriff Cali 😂

10 Month Alert!

We had quite a busy month! Warren got to travel on 4 airplanes, see both sets of grandparents, most aunts and uncles and even some great grandparents! We were go, go, go because of the holidays, but I would definitely call Warren's first Christmas a success!

On top of learning the joys of the holidays over the last few weeks, Warren has learned how to give high-5s, walk with his walker, clap, and he has started to say 'mama' and 'dada'!!! Although he is far more consistent with saying 'dog'. Warren will stand by the back door, slap his leg (the sign for dog) and yell, 'Daaaahhh! Daaahhh!' until the dogs come to the door.
He also likes to shake his head 'no' when we tell him something he doesn't want to hear! He's got quite a personality.

I wont bore everyone with the details of our Christmas, but I will sum it up by saying that my family is beyond blessed. Everyone got spoiled, but more importantly, my kids understand that Christmas is about Jesus' birthday and it's important to spend it with family and friends.

Look at me! Today I'm: Ten months old. It's time to start planning his 1st birthday party!!

He weighs: 20 pounds! He's gained 2 pounds in the last 3 weeks, so he's back up to the 45th percentile for weight!

His height/length is now: 30 inches! He's sitting at the 89th percentile for height currently.

His clothing size is: 12 month everything! I had to sort his onesies and shirts yesterday and take all of the too-small 9mo clothes out. So sad. especially since there were a few things he only wore once! I'm glad that his growing is going to slow down a bit now, so I can take a breather from clothes shopping!

This month he learned: how to give high 5s, say mama, dada and dog, sign dog, and walk all over the place with his walker toy, or holding on to the wall. I think this may be the month he starts to walk on his own. We'll see!

Special trips we took: Warren got to meet Santa!

He did such a good job sitting with Santa. I didn't think it would be an issue, especially with Wyatt and Alexis being right next to him.

He also got to go to Alabama and Texas and see so much of his family! I am so grateful that he is able to have so many people that love him!

Mommy and daddy's thoughts about this month: This month Warren was definitely healthier, which was SOO NICE. Although now he has his 6th tooth coming in, so he's a bit cranky. Aside from that, it's been a great month. Work, for Matt and I both, slowed down around the holidays so we were able to spend a lot of time relaxing at home, going to the park and on walks.

His routine: Warren is transitioning to one nap a day, so I'm getting used to that, but he seems to be taking it in stride.

Best moment:
Watching the kids open their presents Christmas morning ❤️ Wyatt helped Warren open his stocking and a few gifts and it was so sweet!

His favorite things are: his new legos, a ring stacker, walking and trying to find cords to pull. He knows he's not supposed to play with cords, so he'll grab one, look at you and yell, and as soon as you acknowledge him, he smiles and yanks on it!
We have our hands full, but as he gets better at climbing and walking, we're able to spend more time at the park, which is wonderful!

Warren: 9 months

So this happened today...

I guess Warren decided that today was the day he was going to start standing unsupported.

Look at me! Today I'm: Nine months old! Where has the time gone? Seriously.

He weighs: 18.2 pounds, that's the 25th percentile, but he has been sick this week so I'm sure his weight will bounce back up a pound or so when he gets better.

His height/length is now:  29.5 inches. Which is a little above 90th percentile, like always.

His clothing size is: 9-12 month clothing and 12 month pajamas and jackets! I can now find his size in the toddler section 😢

This month he learned: So much! He learned how to crawl last month and this month he started walking along furniture, standing up on EVERYTHING and as of today, standing on his own! He also learned to recognize the sign for 'bath' and to sign 'eat' so he recognizes 5-6 signs and signs back 3 things! On top of that he feeds himself almost everything, to include applesauce pouches.

Special trips we took: Warren has become a pro at flying on airplanes! This Thanksgiving he got to fly again for his very first trip to Oregon!
He got to meet his great grandfather, and per his tradition, Pop-pop snuck him whipped cream and other sweets!
He also got to help pick out and cut down his first Christmas Tree! Well, he didn't actually do anything but look cute, but it still counts :)

Mommy and daddy's thoughts about this month: Warren is going to be walking in no time! He's had some great developmental milestones, but this month has also been rough on him because he's been sick off and on all month!

His routine: he has officially started to resist his naps and now that he sleeps 12 hours a night, he normally only naps 1-1.5 hours during the day! It makes for some very tired parents, let me tell you!

Best moment:
Definitely seeing all of the kids play at Alexis' birthday party and Warren getting to meet/see all of my family again!
Jumping on one of the trampolines

His favorite things are: currently bath time, walks to the park and playing with his puzzle mat!

Warren is 8 months old

Warren had quite an eventful month; he started day care, mastered crawling and pulling up on things and began feeding himself table food regularly!

Look at me! Today I'm: 8 months old!

He weighs:19 pounds

His height/length is now: about 29 inches. He's such a wiggle worm that I was having a hard time measuring him!

His clothing size is: 6-9mo clothing and 9 month PJs

This month he learned: how to crawl! He is such a busy body now. I love it!

Special trips we took: Warren got to visit California, and the Pacific Ocean for the very first time!
He also go to visit Alexis' school for her Halloween party and Costume Parade
Warren also got to go on his first plane ride this month! He had such an amazing, happy attitude the whole time!

Mommy and daddy's thoughts about this month: With his new found mobility, we are finding all of the fragile and dangerous items we overlooked when baby proofing!

His routine: he is starting to get back on schedule with his naps, but it was a long transition period to get him off Texas time!

Best moment: seeing the kids in their Halloween costumes!
Sleepy beast
Chipper Jones and Beauty & The Beast

His favorite things are: Feeding himself and giving everyone kisses!
I made Warren chicken, carrots and broccoli but he stole my pizza when I was telling the dogs to go lay down!

Houston, we have a crawler

That's right.
This little honey has earned his "crawl badge"! He's been on hands and knees, rocking and moving a knee or two at a time for a couple weeks but three days ago he finally put it all together!

As if that weren't enough, yesterday he also decided that he was going to start grabbing things (anything really) and pull himself up to standing!
I am so excited for this mobile, messy stage to start!

Somebody just remind me of that in 2-3 months when my house is a wreck and I'm losing my mind 😉

Seven months young

This kid. Every time you look at him he's smiling. He's the happiest baby ever, and I LOVE IT!

Look at me! Today I'm: Seven months old!

He weighs:18.5 pounds, 53 percentile

His height/length is now: 28.5 inches, 92 percentile

His clothing size is: 6-9mo clothing and 9 month PJs

This month he learned: How to get on his hands and knees and propel himself forward! He decided this week that he was interested in crawling and is SO CLOSE! He also learned how to scoot himself off the couch, use it to stand and then plop onto the floor to play down there. You can't take your eyes off the little daredevil! Warren also consistently signs "milk" when he's hungry and he signs "all done" and "more" occasionally. He clearly recognizes all of those signs and "eat". It's amazing to watch him figure this stuff out.

Special trips we took: Warren got to hang out with his Gramster and meet his cousins this month! He LOVED all of the attention they gave him!
Giving Gramster kisses
Sliding with Shelby and Jakob

Warren also got to visit Tombstone, AZ and the OKCorral!
His eyes lit up every time he saw horses walk past! I have yet to see him afraid of anything.

Mommy and daddy's thoughts about this month: Warren transitioned from a nanny to daycare this month. He loves being around people, so he hasn't had any problem with drop offs and he loves play time! His only issue has been adjusting to napping without a blanket and without it being in a dark room! He's starting to figure it out though. I can't wait for the "sleep like the dead" stage he will hit as a toddler 😂

His routine: Changing time zones and starting daycare has messed with Warren's routine a little bit, but were mostly back to normal bedtime/wake up. Which is wonderful, because waking up at 5am every morning to a baby that wanted to play wasn't fun. I don't know how (or why) some folks put their kid to bed at 6pm and wake up at 5am every day! So glad I can sleep in until 7-8am on the weekends with Warren.

Best moment: Warren getting to hang out with family! I love seeing him love on them! It's also super exciting to see him start to crawl.

His favorite things are: He just figured out how to push the buttons on his puppy to get him to sing and he LOVES it!
Aside from that toy, he prefers to roll/scoot/wiggle away from the rest of his toys and play with the dogs, shoes, the vacuum and any other non-toy item on the floor. Typical kid.
Since he smiles so much, and is insanely adorable (no bias here, I swear), and because I have 2,000 pictures of him: here are a few more to feast your eyes on.
Daddy let him sit in the front seat and he felt SO COOL!
***calm down trolls, we DID NOT and  WOULD NOT drive the car with him out of his car seat. #byefelicia
More burrito, please!
Best friends.
