Blame game

As you all know, for the time being the government is shut down. I'm not going to waste my time, or yours, complaining about it. I am very thankful that the house passed a bill 422-0 that continued the military pay and thankful that the senate and president passed off on it.
I am slightly irritated with all of the doomsday attitudes from EVERYONE and I am quite irritated with the political blame-game going on. Each party is pitching a fit and blaming the other and making fools of themselves. News flash- having different parties that are willing to fight for what they want is a good thing! Call me old fashioned but I believe that the parties are there to check each other and make sure that they find the best solution. Not the quickest, easiest, or prettiest. That being said, I agree that congress could have worked more diligently before the deadline to find an acceptable solution. However, the average length of a government shut down is 2-3 days and there is minimal impact on the stock market but there is great potential for economic and financial resolution over the next 48 hours.
What I want to see are politicians hard at work to find SOLUTIONS not scapegoats and excuses.

Ok, rant over.

In other news my office is starting to look pretty cool. I found a magical filing cabinet that was full of office supplies! So now I have some pretty shiny pencils :)
As you can tell I'm currently using the sparkly pink one :)
I also acquired a pair of office party glasses!
Enhanced by yours truly~
Now I am ready for Texas to get their act together!
Speaking of Tejas- in case you haven't heard the news: my prediction is coming true.  DeLoss Dodds announced his upcoming retirement, so I'm sure Mack Brown will be stepping up to athletic director and we'll be paying big bucks for a new, well known, head coach. My money is on Nick Saban, but maybe that's just wishful thinking ;)

I know my blog today was all over the place and very opinionated, but I've got to get these things off my chest every now and then so I hope you can hang with me!
Next time I'll be all quirky humor, sarcasm and folly I promise.
