Halfway done!

Pregnancy, like life, is a marathon and NOT a sprint! I have reached 20 weeks which means that I am officially halfway done with this pregnancy. Wow.
It definitely doesn't feel like I've known about this baby for 16 weeks, but I guess I have. Now that the terrible symptoms of the first trimester are over and I've gotten over my sinus infection I can thoroughly enjoy myself. I get the occasional foot cramp and sore legs (leg cramps are a big problem for a lot of ladies in their second and third trimester) but those are no big deal now that I have energy and don't throw up daily! I now think I know why some women say they love being pregnant. If I didn't have morning sickness and felt like this the whole time I probably would too! My current goal is to really enjoy myself for the next 6-7 weeks because I know that the time is quickly approaching when I'll be too large to do anything comfortably.
Speaking of getting large- I am so happy that I'm gaining weight now! It wasn't a serious concern before, but now the weight will go to the baby's development and gaining it steadily now will help minimize the stretch marks.
I need to take a minute to thank all of the ladies that suggested adding Ensure or a smoothie to my daily diet. That is exactly what I needed to get me through the lack of appetite and sickness I was dealing with. Y'all are angels.

How far along? 5 Months

Total weight gain/loss: As of this morning I've gained 4.6 pounds!
Maternity clothes? Just longer sweaters and my regular pants. I have been itching to go to a maternity store to look though!
Stretch marks? Thankfully, no.
Sleep: Back to normal! I try to sleep in but lay in bed about 30 minutes before my alarm goes off feeling awake. It's such a wonderful feeling!
Best moment this week: Getting flowers, just because <3
Miss Anything? Fall weather! Texas is on drugs because yesterday it was 97 and the highs for the next 3 days are all in the 90s. I want to see some cloudy skies and thunder storms!
Movement: Oh yes. Warren moves around like crazy! Oh for those that don't know- Matt and I love the name Warren Matthew, and boy does this little guy like to kick and roll around. I'm really happy about it because it's a constant reminder that he's doing well in there.
Food cravings: I finally have my pre-pregnancy appetite back, which if you know me you know that I still don't eat much but I am able to eat enough without forcing myself!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Only the occasional teeth brushing, which I'm sure will last the entire pregnancy.
Have you started to show yet: I have! I'm glad I'm showing too, not just because I think baby bellies are adorable but because slow steady weight gain is the best prevention of stretch marks.

Gender: Both ultrasounds confirmed that we're having a little boy. We've found some of the cutest little clothes too!
Labor Signs: Nope. Those better not start for 3+ months!
Belly Button in or out? Still in where it belongs!
Wedding rings on or off? It only comes off when we go hunting. I'm not trying to lose that thing in the woods!
Looking forward to: My baby shower! I've been gathering supplies and going over games and food with my mom (the host) and I can't wait to see all of my family and friends there!
Mood: Happy and motivated. I have a 4 day weekend coming up and I've already planned out some baby projects to fill the time! Time to get Warren's stuff ready.
Milestones: He is 6 1/2 inches long and 10 ounces. Pretty soon he'll have the motor skills to suck his thumb and kick on command!
Upcoming Appointments/Events: I don't have any appointments for a month, which I'm thankful for because I've been in and out of my doctors office 5 times in the last month and it's getting old. That being said, I had an appointment a few days ago and my doctor told me that everything looks textbook perfect and that gaining 4-5 pounds at 20 weeks is great for me (even though the apps I have say people usually gain 10 pounds by now) so that was reassuring.
Weekly Wisdom: Enjoy the new baby bump, but don't go out and buy new clothes yet- you've still got a lot of growing to do (belly and elsewhere)!

Now I need to get cracking on some more baby shower preparations and projects around the house. I'm fairly certain I'll have a post baby shower blog about the favors and decor as well as a post about the pallet bar and table we're making, so be on the look out for those :)
